Google Posts: Changes to Performance Metrics
To make this measurable for businesses, Google previously provided statistics showing how often your Google Posts were clicked or viewed, as well as the number of interactions. We’d like to inform you that Google has phased out these statistics, and they are no longer available — neither via the API nor directly in Google.
Previously, metrics such as views, click-through rate, interactions (shares, likes, and comments), and impression rate were available for Google Posts. Unfortunately, we do not know why Google decided to remove these statistics.

Google performance report with a new focus
Google still provides performance reports for your Business Profile, allowing you to measure and analyse its effectiveness using various metrics. These reports now focus more on activity within Google Search and Google Maps. The first newly introduced metrics relate to interactions, showing how often users have contacted you. Additional metrics — including detailed reports on search queries and the number of users who viewed your profile — will be rolled out in the coming months.
A new feature in the Google dashboard is “Unique Visitor”. A unique visitor is a user who views and interacts with your Business Profile multiple times within a 24-hour period. From the first click, all visits, searches, and actions by that user are counted as one interaction. At first glance, this may seem like a quantitative downgrade, but it actually improves quality by showing the true level of engagement from individual users.
Data from the past six months is available and can be displayed for custom time periods. Interaction metrics are updated daily, while other values are refreshed monthly. When new metrics are added to the performance report, older data will gradually be removed from the dashboard and replaced with updated measurements. Currently, performance reports are only available for Google Search, but Google Maps reports will follow soon.
Google states that they cannot provide advance notice of changes. Once updates occur, they can be found on Google’s support page.
Conclusion
The performance report is a valuable tool for anyone looking to improve their online presence and attract new potential customers. No data analysis expertise is required, as the reports are simple and easy to understand.
