Search as you know it no longer exists
For years, local visibility followed a simple equation: rank high on Google, win customers. That equation still holds, but it’s no longer complete.
The figures tell a clear story: until 2024, around 92 per cent of organic search traffic still ran through Google. Today, it’s only 78 per cent (Yext, 2026). The rest is increasingly shifting to AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Search queries haven’t decreased, they’ve simply moved.
AI search plays by different rules
AI systems no longer deliver lists of links. Instead, they provide direct answers based on what they find about a brand across the entire web. They favour structured, consistent and trustworthy information. Companies with incomplete or contradictory data risk being recommended less often or incorrectly.
Many companies currently have no idea how visible their brand actually is in AI search systems, or why competitors get recommended while their own brand doesn’t appear at all.

Scout measures what others overlook
This is precisely where Scout by advantago comes in, bringing classic search engine performance and AI visibility together in a single dashboard for the first time: location-specific, down to neighbourhood level. Five areas combine to deliver the full picture:
- The Visibility Report uses a Visibility Score on a scale from 0 to 100 to show how often a brand is found compared with local competitors, both on Google and across AI systems. In short, it measures the frequency of mentions.
- The AI Brand Sentiment then reveals how those mentions are framed: positively recommended, neutrally referenced or critically portrayed. On top of that, Scout makes visible which external sources the respective AI systems rely on when talking about a brand.
- The Keyword Performance shows how your business is performing within its sector and which competitors are winning precisely where your own brand is falling short.
- The Map View visualises all locations at a glance, from a country-wide overview down to individual neighbourhoods. Colour-coded highlights in green, yellow and red make it immediately clear where action is needed.
- Perhaps the most important part are the prioritised recommendations. Scout derives concrete actions from the data, ranked by their impact on the Visibility Score.
- The Location Performance delivers a direct comparison between your own locations as well as against local competitors. The delta instantly shows where a location is above benchmark and where there’s catching up to do.
A real-world example: a customer with 302 locations discovered through Scout that nearly two-thirds of their locations were invisible in AI searches. The cause lay in the data: missing categories, conflicting information and incomplete profiles meant that the AI simply didn’t find enough usable information to recommend these locations. Scout uncovers this by running real search queries, both brand-specific prompts that mention a location directly, and brand-neutral queries with general search intent. From the data collected, the tool determines where a location appears in AI responses and how the AI talks about it. The result is a realistic picture of how AI actually perceives and evaluates a brand.
Those who wait miss out
Anyone relying exclusively on classic SEO today is optimising for a world of yesterday. AI search is no longer a vision of the future, it’s the daily reality for millions of users. While some brands are already visible there, others are leaving the field to their competitors. Scout creates exactly this transparency and lays the foundation for actively managing digital visibility across search engines and AI systems.
